Backyard Summer Wedding | Andy + Renée
Posted On | August 12, 2022
What happens when a photographer gets married? I feel freakin’ HONORED to be the one to capture it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andy and Renee met during the covid lockdown. A neighbor planned a socially distanced party and definitely knew what he was doing when he introduced them to each other. After warming up to each other, going on a neighborhood hike and a few more hikes and camping trips, they finally fell head over heels for each other.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Their relationship flourished in a tiny studio guest house in Idledale, until they were able to buy a home of their own in that same neighborhood.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andy is a photographer (I got to know him from a networking event I attended for several years) and Renee has perfected flossing (the dance, not what your dentist recommends) and loves a good book and TV binge. I was honored to be asked to photograph their small wedding in their home in the mountains of Idledale.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andy and Renee absolutely LOVE having people over to their home and hosting get-togethers. That’s why they wanted to invite their friends and family to their home to celebrate their marriage. They set up tables and chairs and strands of twinkling lights outside so their guests could share the joy they have for living in the mountains.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With everyone singing away to the live band, we ended the evening with a full moon and some epic lantern pictures overlooking their mountain valley.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andy and Renee did it right – they listened to what was important to them and truly threw a celebration that honored who they are at their core with the people who mean the most to them. Thanks, you two, for trusting me to be the one to capture your day.
