Kellee + Joe | Boulder, CO Adventure Engagement Session

A little back story: Kellee and I grew up together on the same block. We swam in my backyard pool, played pretend everything, and gave both of our older brothers a lot of crap. But, at the end of elementary school, Kellee and her family moved away. Although we had run into each other a few times over the past years, we hadn’t really talked in a long time.

About a month and a half ago, I saw the Facebook announcement when Joe proposed to Kellee in Mexico, a place close to their heart and relationship, and all I could think was “gosh, I would die to shoot their engagement session!”. Well, only a few weeks after they got engaged I got a message from Kellee asking about fitting in engagement photos before Joe got deployed (cue my squeal of excitement!).

So, two days before Ben and I were getting ready to head out on our one month adventure in Hawaii, I met Joe and Kellee to shoot their engagement session at a location I’d been dying to shoot at called Betasso Preserve in the mountains outside of Boulder, CO. I am so thankful for these two’s sense of adventure and love for getting lost in the forest. We had a gorgeous 60 degree, January evening with a stunning mountain sunset.
