Boulder Hiking Elopement | Kendall + Ally

Kendall and Ally met at their high school job working at a consignment store. They would sort through children’s clothing and shoes, talking away, building a friendship and never EVER thought they would get married. Just spending so much time together and becoming best friends where they’d talk for hours after work in the parking lot made them fall in love without realizing it. They knew they wanted to get married eventually, and always wanted a smaller, more intimate wedding, but didn’t have any specific plans. When Roe vs. Wade was overturned that changed everything. They immediately made plans to get married in CO with about 3 months to plan.

Even thought they planned their elopement in such a short amount of time, their intention and personality was infused into their day.

One of Kendall and Ally’s favorite ways to spend time together is having LEGO parties with their friends. They just love to build incredible sets and get lost in the process. On their wedding day they chose to build a LEGO set of two roses together to kick off the day.

These two love their plants (and are always propagating a new one) so instead of a traditional knot-tying ceremony, they held a propagation ceremony in their Airbnb where they got ready. They chose their favorite plants from a local plant shop in Boulder and each took a cutting to propagate the plants together.

On our way to the hike for their ceremony, we had to make a stop to get french fries at Mcdonald’s. These two love their fries and it was the perfect pick-me-up before the mountain hike.

We hiked up to a private overlook where Kendall and Ally shared their vows to each other, signed their marriage license (you can self-solemnize in the state of CO!) and facetimed their family and friends, to which their marriage was a fun suprise!!!!

We ended the night with snacks and blue light photos as the sun dropped behind the horizon.

Working with Larissa was amazing. From the very first FaceTime we knew she was the one for us! It was so great not having to worry about planning our entire elopement and being able to fully trust Larissa to make it the best day of our lives. It felt like we had known her for years and it made our day so much better. Best photographers ever!!
