Boulder Sunset Proposal | Shelby & Collin

Tell me Shelby and Collin’s proposal isn’t the cutest thing you’ve ever seen…

I’m a sucker for surprise proposals, so when my cousin’s boyfriend reached out about wanting to surprise her, you bet your butt I was immediately in!

Collin and Shelby first met as neighbors in their college dorm. As they spent the next several years supporting each other through school, surgeries, college sports, and the general craziness of life, they both knew that marriage was inevitable!

Plus, if anyone could fit in with our crazy family as well as Collin did, we knew he was a keeper! 

When the time finally came and Collin told me he had always imagined proposing on a hike with an epic view, I knew just the spot! Shelby is a smart cookie, so we knew we were going to have to be sneaky.

The day of the proposal I met up with Collin’s mom to grab the change of clothes he had carefully picked out. I hiked up to the spot he had decided on and camped out behind some big rocks. We were scared she’d immediately know if she saw me, so I made sure to wear a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a mask.

As they made their way to the trail, Colorado gave us the most beautiful weather. As Shelby took in the view, Collin dropped to one knee and asked the most important question of his life.

She of course said yes!

After lots of tears, hugs, and celebration, they changed into the clothes Collin had packed and we did a mini-engagement session, capturing those post-proposal feels.

It truly was the PERFECT evening!
