Breckenridge Troll Winter Elopement | Maria + Thomas

Technically, Maria and Thomas first met in high school during Spanish class – Maria was in 10th grade and Thomas in 12th. They never really talked in class, but 2 years later they reconnected on Tinder. Their first date was to see a 10 pm screening of Deadpool 2 at the theater Thomas worked at.⁠

Though the conversation was easy and they totally loved each other’s sense of humor, neither of them knew if the other person considered it a date. The next day, Thomas asked Maria if it was a date, Maria said she’d love if it was and the rest is history.⁠

These two traveled all the way from Italy where Thomas is stationed in the military to meet their family in Colorado to celebrate their marriage. On a beautiful December afternoon, we adventured in Breckenridge for some epic photos.⁠

When we were finalizing their wedding day, I casually asked if they’d be interested in going to find the Breckenridge troll? Maria said she’s always wanted to plan a big road trip to go see all the trolls and they were down to go find Isak Heartstone (The name of the troll in Breck). Isak made for some pretty fun and unique photos!⁠

After finding the troll. we strolled through downtown Breck and had their ceremony at the Breckenridge nordic center shortly after the sun dipped down.⁠

Right from the beginning We, The Light Photography was amazing! Larissa’s response time is unmatched and she answered every single question the first time! We quickly knew we wanted to hire her because of her overwhelmingly positive attitude, the fact that she was able to make us laugh and joke around naturally, and because we really enjoyed her photography style in general. On the days leading up to the ceremony Larissa was very helpful and always offered a helping hand/advise in any department she could. The day of the ceremony, while taking pictures, she had the best pose prompts that created the most natural pictures we have ever had taken of us! Following the ceremony she had a quick turnaround with not only the sneak peak but also the complete set of pictures, additionally she sent a little surprise that really brightened our day! We loved our experience with We, The Light Photography and highly recommend them to any and everyone!!
