Colorado Off-Road Elopement | Kayla + Jeff

Kayla and Jeff’s Colorado off-road elopement was full of family, adventure, and SO many last-minute changes that resulted in the most perfect day.

The bride and groom spent a leisurely morning getting ready separately, surrounded in prayer with their families before heading to the ceremony site in Grand Lake. We realized as soon as we arrived that Kayla’s flowers were still on the kitchen counter. While a few of her family members went back to grab them, Kayla and Jeff decided they couldn’t wait any longer to see each other. They shared an impromptu first look and read each other letters in front of a perfectly mirrored lake in the morning sun.

Jeff’s dad (a pastor who was currently serving as a missionary in the Congo and barely made it to their wedding on time after spending 30 hours traveling!) officiated a heartfelt lakeside ceremony.

After sharing some mimosas, mules, and cake (in mimosa glasses because we couldn’t find plates or knives!), the group geared up for their next adventure – an off-road adventure with Grand Adventures up a mountain pass. Despite some rain, wind, hail, and snow, the group didn’t let the weather spoil their adventure and made a point to see who could get the muddiest on the way back!
