Double Rainbows and Pizza Nights | Christina & Kristin’s Wildy Beautiful Elopement
Posted On | October 16, 2024

Christina and Kristin’s elopement day had all the makings of a classic Colorado love story – with a bit of drama, a lot of heart, and weather that kept us on our toes in the best way.
We started the afternoon at Artists Point, hiking with their crew to a tucked-away ceremony spot. There was that giddy, nervous energy in the air -the kind that makes everyone extra smiley and a little teary before anything even happens. When they stood together to say their vows, it felt like the whole mountain hushed for a minute. There was laughter, a few happy sobs, and a very enthusiastic “yes” to forever.
After a round of hugs and happy tears, we rolled into the good stuff: family photos, marriage license signing, champagne popped with zero hesitation, and cake served picnic-style at a nearby table. It was casual in all the right ways – like the kind of celebration where you can actually be present.
Then the three of us snuck away for a quiet hike nearby to some gorgeous mountain views. Christina and Kristin shared their private vows with no one else around, and it was one of those moments that felt a little sacred. You could hear the wind, the birds, and their voices, steady and full of feeling. Afterward, we cracked open a drink and wandered through golden hour light like we had the whole mountain to ourselves.
And right when we were feeling smug about how perfect the light was – bam. Thunder. A fast little afternoon storm rolled through like it had a point to make. We scrambled for cover and laughed through it, and the payoff? A double rainbow. Not one, but two. It was absurdly beautiful, like the universe just couldn’t help but flex a little.
After the storm cleared, we headed down to Chautauqua for blue hour portraits. The whole place was glowing with that soft post-storm light, and as we wrapped up shooting, the full moon started rising right over Boulder. It was huge and completely unbothered by all of us standing around whispering “Are you seeing this?!” like it wasn’t obviously putting on a show just for them.
The final stop for this Boulder elopement was their Airbnb, where we traded boots for blankets and kicked back with pizza and s’mores around the campfire. The moon was still shining, but as it climbed higher, the stars started sneaking in. We ended the night taking star photos while the fire crackled and the sky got darker, and it felt like everything had settled into this perfect exhale.
Christina and Kristin’s elopement had it all: mountain views, surprise weather, moonrise magic, and the kind of love that makes you believe in the whole damn thing. It was real, it was wild, and it was absolutely theirs.
