Michelle and Nick are one of my favorite We, The Light couples. They are funny, love to laugh and are totally not afraid to show their love for each other. They are planning their wedding for June of 2018, but wanted to remember every step of their wedding planning journey by doing a mini engagement session in each season of the year. We already did their sweet, spring engagement session this past May – if you didn’t get the chance to check it out, you can view the session here.
This month, we met up in quirky, fun downtown Louisville, CO for their summer engagement session. As soon as Michelle mentioned the words “I was thinking of something with ice cream”, I was all over planning out ideas for their session and immediately thought of Sweet Cow Ice Cream in Louisville as the perfect spot. Sweet Cow is known for their funky flavors, homemade ice cream that is probably as good as your great-great-grandma’s and their cow mascot. The best part is that they gave Michelle and Nick their ice cream for free as a celebration of their engagement! (cue the “awes”)
We took a few pictures in Sweet Cow at the counter overlooking the outdoor area and then walked over to a nearby bench against a fun purple colored wall – anything to scream fun, bright and summery. They took the next few minutes to just sit and talk and laugh with each other while they ate their ice cream. I loved Michelle and Nick’s bursts of laughter when I told them to “cheers” their ice cream – hey, anything to get them to laugh!
We finished off their summer engagement session in Louisville, CO with a bubble gun fight down a side alley. Bubbles flying everywhere perfectly complimented Nick and Michelle’s playful and fun personality. The funniest moment was when a slight breeze picked up and no matter how much Michelle tried to shoot bubbles at Nick, they all came blowing right back in her face (now I won’t say that Nick was cheating, but he definitely had the upper hand). Ending in kisses amidst bubbles and tossing confetti in the air, their summer engagement session was a perfect mix of fun and romance.
Now, be ready for Michelle and Nick’s upcoming fall and winter sessions – hint, one of them might include their adorable dog (you know how much I love dogs!).
Are you considering a summer engagement session? Summer is the perfect season for fun, romantic and playful photos. With the sun setting later, we have the opportunity to explore fun locations and get some gorgeous summery sunshine in your pictures.
