Eldorado Canyon State Park Elopement | Ellen + Grant

Like many 2020 couples, Ellen + Grant ended up planning their wedding THREE times thanks to COVID and wildfires. Let me tell you though, despite everything that was thrown their way, I have never seen a more optimistic and upbeat couple than these two!

The pair met playing city league dodgeball while in grad school, and visited a dive bar for their first date where they accidently ran into their entire dodgeball team, unable to hide the fact from their teammates that they were on their first date!

Grant said that he fell in love with Ellen after seeing the world through her eyes – she loves poetry and reflecting on how things impact her, and it made him appreciate those things too, and understand the world a bit better. Ellen fell in love with Grant while healing from a messy breakup, appreciating his patience and passion for being with her.

Ellen + Grant shared their vows in an intimate ceremony in Boulder next to a river, reading poems to each other while Ellen’s parents acted as tearful witnesses. After sharing hugs and congratulations, they headed off on their own for an adventure, exploring the foothills and sharing a bottle of bubbly! Their wedding day is proof that sometimes it’s best to say to heck with plans and see where the day takes you.
