Georgetown Loop Railroad Elopement | Marcus + Manuela

The award for most unique elopement hands-down goes to Marcus and Manuela – their Georgetown Loop Railroad elopement was unforgettable!

The first time Marcus and Manuela met, it was at a scuba club event where Manuela got stung by a jellyfish. Perhaps a precursor to how their relationship would unfold, these two have had obstacle after obstacle come up, but they have never once let it get in the way of their love for each other!

As they planned their elopement long-distance, they knew they wanted to incorporate their love of astronomy (Manuela is in aerospace) and trains (Marcus is a mechanical engineer). What resulted was SUCH an incredible day!

Marcus and Manuela woke up bright and early in order to catch the Orionid meteor shower. As we stood in awe watching an incredible number of shooting stars and making wish after wish, it definitely felt like a good omen!

As the sun began to slowly lighten the sky, we made our way up a mountain pass where we caught some gorgeous alpenglow. After a quick warmup break, they shared their vows in front of their loved ones just after sunrise.

To celebrate, we hopped on the Georgetown Loop Railroad for a scenic ride on a 1926 steam engine. The conductor heard the bride and groom were on board and invited them to see the engine up close – definitely something we’ll never forget!

Marcus and Manuela’s day goes to show that there truly is no limit to what your wedding day can look like. Here’s your permission slip to throw tradition out the window and do whatever the heck you want.
