Great Sand Dunes National Park Elopement | Keith + Kate

Kate and Keith’s Great Sand Dunes National Park elopement is one of those days that will be with me for the rest of my life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They started the day leisurely helping each other get ready. Keith provided moral support as Kate did her hair and makeup, showering her with compliments and ensuring the record player they brought from home kept spinning tunes. They took some time tearfully copying their vows into their vow books and helped each other put on their wedding attire. The sense of calm all around us was unreal as they face-timed their friends and family before heading out for the afternoon.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We arrived at Great Sand Dunes National Park for their elopement just in time for the parking lot to start clearing out, meaning they had the dune field practically to themselves! Their wedding day was during the magical time of year when the Medano Creek is flowing, so they dipped their toes in the water before climbing a dune and finally sharing their vows.

We spent the rest of the afternoon during their Great Sand Dunes National Park elopement playing in the sand and sharing a beer along the creek’s edge, soaking up the sun and reveling in those just-married feels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once the sun began to set behind the dune field, we headed back to their cabin. While we waited for the stars to come out, Kate and Keith snuggled up in the back of their beloved jeep to make some s’mores. Keith had proposed while stargazing in the mountains, so it was only fitting that we ended the evening doing the same!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Intentionally slowing down and enjoying the moment as Kate and Keith did is such an incredible way to fully enjoy your wedding day. It goes by SO fast, but taking the time to really soak up all of the little details of the day makes such a huge difference!

We booked an elopement with Bailey in May at the sand dunes and the whole process was amazing! She helped us envision and execute our perfect day and captured all of it. She captured moments and emotions that we didn’t even think to ask for. We couldn’t be happier!
