Hello there! If you are here, then you probably haven’t stopped looking down at that sparkly object on your left hand. You know, the one between your pinky and middle fingers that fits just right? If you have that obsession (I still do five years later!), then it is time to show off that ring of yours!
Here is my simple guide (and inspiration) for showing off your new rock.
Make is sparkle! Get that ring cleaned a day (or two) before your photo session. Don’t have time for a professional cleaning? Trust me, neither do I! You can always use my old trick of dipping your ring in boiling water for 10-15 seconds, dousing it with Windex and wiping it off with a paper towel – and wa-bam, sparkly clean! (Although, be sure to take it out of the paper towel once your done wiping it down! I literally threw my ring in the trash can one time as my hubby and I spent hours searching for it!)
Keep those nails in check! Ok, most women are thrilled to have a reason to get their nails done. I am not one of those. So if you love the smell of chemicals and hand pampering galore then go all out for your engagement session. But, if you’re like me and have to cut your nails literally every other day and the last thing you had on them was marker from writing too many thank you notes, then at least have your cuticles trimmed and your nails smoothed. Trust me, you will be thankful you did something!
Know all sides! Experiment with different angles so you can capture the very best aspects of your ring. Straight overhead can look very different from a side angle to straight on. Trust me, we’ll get plenty of time to experiment in our engagement session together!
Don’t stress! If you forgot to get it cleaned or to get your nails done, do not worry. I’ve got your back on some amazing shots that will still make your symbol of life-long-love shine!
