Some weddings are grand, but others are intimate, heartfelt, and deeply personal—just like this intimate Breckeridge wedding. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, this couple embraced the beauty of a small, meaningful celebration. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Summit County in Colorado, with mountain views stretching for miles, their wedding was a perfect blend of nature, love, and family. And as if the day couldn’t get any more magical, a rainbow appeared after their dinner reception, sealing their love story with a touch of serendipity.

How They Met

Jordan and Kellen met in the science department at college, initially bonding over culturing sensory neurons from rat spinal cords. Their connection quickly grew beyond the lab, deepening through long, meaningful conversations about life, philosophy, and eventually, their daughter. They always knew they were each other’s person because of the way they could talk effortlessly, sharing their thoughts and dreams with openness and ease.

Their Pre-Wedding Moment With Their Baby Daughter

The weather forecast for their June wedding predicted scattered thunderstorms. Instead, the day unfolded in perfect harmony with their adventurous spirits. The morning was peaceful as they got ready together in a charming mountain cabin, savoring quiet moments as a family. When it was time for their private vows, they found a secluded spot near a gushing waterfall in Breckenridge. A blanket was spread on the ground, and with their daughter nestled between them, they shared a simple picnic. The rain held off just long enough for them to exchange heartfelt promises, the sound of rushing water adding to the intimacy of the moment.

Their Intimate Wedding

As the sky darkened and the rain clouds rolled in, we took shelter in our cars, waiting for the storm to pass before their ceremony at Sapphire Point. Instead of stress, there was laughter and patience, a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. When the rain softened to a light sprinkle, they gathered with their closest family and friends in a quiet clearing for their ceremony. The mist in the air only made the moment feel more magical, as they spoke their vows with the mountains standing witness.

Afterward, they celebrated with an intimate dinner at a nearby restaurant, where family laughed and glasses clinked in joyful toasts. Just when it seemed the day couldn’t get any better, the sun peeked out from under the clouds, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Jordan and Kellen embraced it all, stepping onto the rain-soaked ground to dance together as the day came to a close.

Their wedding was a true reflection of what it means to elope in Colorado—rolling with whatever the day brings, being flexible, and finding beauty in every unexpected moment. They didn’t just accept the rain; they embraced it, making their day even more special because of it. This was a celebration of love in its purest form, filled with laughter, adventure, and the quiet kind of magic that makes a wedding unforgettable.
