Tiffany + Eric | Lyons Farmette Wedding
Posted On | July 31, 2019
There are not many more things that could have made Tiffany and Eric’s Lyons Farmette wedding more memorable. Like the downpour of rain that pattered on the tin roof of the Airstream where Tiffany finished up her hair and makeup. Or when the sun peeked out of the clouds at the perfect time for sunset. Their wedding day was intimate, personal, fun, relaxed and one I will never forget.
How They Met
Tiffany and Eric both grew up down south in Colorado Springs. They grew up loving the outdoors and exploring the area separately. It wasn’t until they both attended Colorado State University (go Rams!) in Fort Collins, that these two’s paths first crossed. It was the summer after they finished up with regular classes. Taking a fieldwork course in the mountains of Pingree Park was an option to add on for their degree. And in the fields of wildflowers and forest of tall pine trees is where Tiffany and Eric’s story began.
These two spent the summer learning about flora and fauna together. They went on a big group backpacking trip for the 4th of July and became friends. But, when the fieldwork course ended that summer and they drove separate ways back home, they didn’t really know if they’d ever see each other again.
Seven years later, Tiffany and Eric decided to download that app called Tinder. They both matched up with each other, swiped right and decided to give each other a chance. That night they danced the night away together and the rest of their story is history.
What They Love To Do
After work and on weekends Tiffany and Eric are usually hanging out with their dogs in the backyard of the old house they are fixing up, or heading out on an adventure. Camping, skiing, snowshoeing, backpacking and attempting to fly-fish are a few of their favorite things. Tiffany loves to bake, run and start sewing/crocheting projects that may or may not get finished. Oh, and she’s obsessed with alpacas just like me! When Eric gets a break from the day-to-day he can be found gardening, woodworking or practicing on his guitar.
Their Lyons Farmette Wedding
As I drove up to the Lyons Farmette on that June afternoon, I knew I was going to love this venue, but I didn’t realize how much I was going to fall in love with the fields of flowers, giant trees that shadowed an open lawn, and how kind everyone was. Tiffany, knowing our shared obsession with alpacas, had warned me that they had some on the farm. But when I walked up that dirt driveway and saw a brown alpaca staring my way I knew exactly why Tiffany had chosen to have her wedding there. It was going to be a GOOD day!
The weather threatened to rain all day long. Only a few minutes after arriving and saying hi to Tiffany and Eric, there was a downpour. I checked my (many) weather apps and saw that there could be a chance of rain for the rest of the evening. But the rain stopped only 15 minutes later.
Tiffany dreamed of having her reception with long tables full of her family and friends outdoors under the string lights. But, they kept the tables under the tent because of the threat of rain and wind that was blowing. Finally, after the ceremony, Tiffany said to put them outside and we prayed for the best. And, it was the best. The wind suddenly died down, we even got a beautiful pocket of sunlight right at sunset for some dreamy pictures.
The rest of the night was spent laughing and crying as their family and friends told their best stories of when Tiffany and Eric were young. They cut a pie together that was adorned with the cutest alpaca topper (Tiffany used lace from a dress to put a little veil on one of the alpacas).
These two started off their official relationship dancing the night away, so there was no more appropriate way to end the night. Dancing and laughter under the outdoor tent proceeded for the rest of the night! With a s’more around the firepit thrown in here and there.
Thank you, Tiffany and Eric, for bringing me into a little slice of your life together. Thank you for allowing me to be the one to put into pictures all that day meant to you. Ya’ll are gems in this world and make everyone around you happier. So many wishes for a wonderful marriage!
