Tiffany + Eric | RMNP Engagement Session
Posted On | July 2, 2018
Tiffany and Eric’s RMNP engagement session was an evening for the books for this Colorado engagement photographer. We started their session off with sipping a six pack of IPA on the back of my tailgate next to the creek in Horseshoe Park. I absolutely loved hearing more about how these two met.
Tiffany and Eric were both born and raised in Colorado Springs but didn’t meet until they took a summer fieldwork course together for their undergrad degrees. So in the mountains of Pingree Park, CO, these two met as friends, backpacked together, learned about local plants, and basically frolicked through fields all summer. They remained Facebook friends after the course was over, but were just that – friends. Seven years later, they were both on Tinder and matched up. Let’s just say they both swiped right, met up, danced the night away and the rest of their love story is history.
With degrees related to natural resources, Rocky Mountain National Park was Tiffany and Eric’s JAM. When these cuties aren’t working their jobs studying plants, they are off on a camping adventure with their two pups, hitting the ski slopes, or attempting to fly fish. A.K.A. they are just as obsessed (if not more) about the great outdoors as I am. As we were running through fields together, they brought my plant knowledge up to par. Eric could name every wildflower we came across and they taught me all about the alluvial fan up Fall River Road.
As we started their RMNP engagement session at Horseshoe park, the smoke from Colorado wildfires filled the valley in a surreal mist. Between tickle fights in the field to dancing to Marry Me by Train in the middle of an aspen grove, these two were down for anything. My favorite part was capturing the way these two made silly faces at each other any chance they got and how Eric made Tiffany laugh with his jokes and over-abundance of plant knowledge.
As we headed up the mountain on Trail Ridge Road to continue their engagement session, we caught just about the most gorgeous sunset I have ever seen from a mountain top. As an adventure engagement photographer, you always pray for a beautiful sunset, but only God has the power to paint those cotton candy skies when you want them. And, OH BOY, He did not disappoint. As Tiffany and Eric scaled rocks, hopped across the tundra and ran full speed chasing the sunset, this photographer cried happy tears for how incredible it was up on Trail Ridge Road that evening. We ended the night with some photo-bombing from a family of elk who were making their way through the park.
To say spending the evening with Tiffany and Eric for their RMNP engagement session was incredible is a huge understatement. I would do it all over again every day for the rest of my life if I could. Congrats you two on your next adventure together in life and thank you for allowing me to document your dance moves, your quirks, and your love. You da’ best!
