Because eloping in Colorado is so easy, many couples view the actual ceremony process as sharing some personal vows, exchanging rings, and calling it a day.

But these two really wanted to emphasize the sacredness of their decision to get married and set the best intentions for their life together.

They hiked up to this lookout with two backpacks full of personal, meaningful and sacred items that reminded them of the journey they’ve been on and what they want to take into the future. Adrianne and Kevin spent time creating a stunning alter with these personal momentos so they could be surrounded by all the love and light that pours into their life.

Having Jen from Small Circle Ceremonies officiate their ceremony, made it feel more real. Instead of a quick, 10-minute ceremony, they slowed down, cleared their energy, and reflected on what it truly meant to go forward in life by each other’s sides.

As these two committed together in the presence of the mountains, Colorado decided to send one of her fluttering surprise snow flurries their way. But, Adrianne and Kevin bundled up, took a hot cocoa break, and finished their ceremony with their first dance with the mountains and chilly winter air as their witness.
