My favorite moments from Paige and Jeff’s wedding day:
Paige and Jeff go together like peanut butter and jelly, country music and beer, and two peas in a pod. Their kindness, love for adventure and fun spirits were meant for each other. On top of that, I have to say they are the most perfect We, The Light couple with their love for the outdoors, backpacking and camping.
Paige and Jeff met while mountain biking in Crested Butte with mutual friends (a.k.a. Jeff’s best man). According to the best man’s story, none of their friends knew there was a ‘thing’ between them until Jeff decided on a random weekday evening to drive several hours to Crested Butte to see Paige’s smile again. And the rest of their story is history.
Jeff popped the big question on a sunny day in the Rocky Mountains. Him and Paige were backpacking, one of their favorite things to do together. At above tree line, with views that went for miles and miles, he asked her for her hand in marriage.
Paige and Jeff chose to get married at YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch at the Columbine Point overlook. With views of Grand County that felt like you could see forever, I couldn’t agree with them more that it was the perfect fit for these two. The pine filled mountains were sprinkled with shimmering aspen trees. Fields of grass poured over rolling hills beneath the mountain-peaks. Surprises of yellow and purple wild flowers were interspersed everywhere.
If I was to describe Paige and Jeff’s wedding ceremony in one word it would be “personal”. Not only was Paige’s brother the officiant, but they spent months developing a ceremony that would tell their journey. There was a moment where Paige and Jeff took turns telling their story: how they met, how Jeff moved to California and they have lived apart for almost two years of their relationship, how he proposed and how they ended up there that day. With each part of their story, Paige and Jeff dropped a rock into a copper fountain.
Then, their parents joined them with mason jars full of water from areas that were important to them – like where they grew up. These jars of water were poured into the fountain and covered the rocks of their journey to complete their story. There was not a person attending that couldn’t feel the deep and personal connection between Paige and Jeff.
After the ceremony ended, I stole Paige and Jeff away for a few moments to a grove of aspen trees. The sunlight was shining through the leaves, leaving a shimmer of shadows on the ground that made the forest feel magical. It was just moments after Paige and Jeff were announced husband and wife and the images are so full of love between these two.
Paige wanted to make sure we took wedding party pictures down at Just Ranch, which is a historical site within Snow Mountain Ranch filled with a rustic, farm feel. The weathered wood barns paired perfectly with Paige and her bridesmaids’ cowboy boots.
The celebration continued with their family and friends in a location with mountain valley views. The reception was full of laughs from the toasts, fun pictures of Paige smashing pie into Jeff’s face (that’s my girl!), and sweet moments as these two took their first dance as husband and wife.
I couldn’t be more grateful to have captured all the memories and emotions this day held. And getting a hug from Paige and Jeff at the end of the night solidified that I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be.
I hope you enjoy these images from Paige and Jeff’s wedding day!
