Colorado Snowmobile Elopement | Kacey + Sarah

If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to explore a snowy mountaintop on your wedding day, Kacey and Sarah’s snowmobile elopement, which was featured in the New York Times, is a perfect example!

How They Met

Kacey and Sarah met online before it was the “cool” thing to do. After immediately feeling a spark after their first date, they dated long-distance for two years before moving in together, buying their first home, becoming moms to two spoiled schnauzers!

They initially planned to get married in Hawaii on their 10 year anniversary, but when COVID made that reality impossible, they decided to make the best of a tough situation and elope in Colorado instead! In true 2020 fashion, the week of their elopement a wildfire tore through where they were supposed to get married, forcing them to change plans for a third time. Despite these never-ending changes and working through a difficult season of caring for a sick parent, these two FINALLY did the dang thing and became Mrs. and Mrs!

Their Colorado Snowmobile Elopement

Their long-awaited wedding day started with them exchanging vows at sunrise on a frozen alpine lake near Breckenridge. Sarah’s mom was on Facetime, cheering them on from her hospital bed in Texas while their two fur babies were snuggled up at their feet acting as witnesses. I don’t think there was a dry eye by the end of their ceremony!

After popping a bottle of bubbly and sharing their first dance, they met up with a few of their former sorority sisters for a celebratory beer + cake at Outer Range Brewing (aka the brunch of champions).

The newlyweds ended the day by throwing on some *very* fancy snowsuits and hopping on the back of a snowmobile. They rode up to the top of a mountain pass to soak up some crazy mountain views and a gorgeous golden afternoon glow!
