How They Met

Allison and Ben first met through a mutual friend. Their first date was at the Park Theatre on open mic night in Holland, Michigan. Allison’s first thoughts meeting Ben was, “I can’t believe all these events today led to [my friend] Kat and I in Ben’s car going to party with him”. Ben’s first thought was “I thought you were breathtaking but didn’t want to act like you were.”

What They Love To Do Together

Allison’s idea of fun is climbing, doing yoga and being outdoors.⁠ Ben has a passion for DJing, producing music and up-leveling his shoe collection.⁠

Together, these two spend their days off going on hikes, cuddling and doing absolutely nothing, and eating really good food with a concert afterward.⁠

On a Saturday in January, I met up with these two at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. Allison and Ben piled into my car and we drove into Rocky Mountain National Park.

The weather forecast for the day predicted partly cloudy skies – as in I expected to see SOME sun. That may have been true for the actual town of Estes Park, but as we drove up the road to the Dream Lake trailhead, we drove into a big gray cloud that dropped sparkling, little snowflakes.

The 2.2 mile hike up to Dream Lake through the cold snow was 100000% worth it for the real-life snow globe we got stuck in at the top!

Allison and Ben are the true MVPs of the day! They braved frigid temperatures, slippery ice and basically freezing their tushies off for the sake of pictures that described their wild and fierce love for each other.
