Summer Breckenridge Hiking Elopement | Laura + Paula

Laura and Paula have the kind of relationship where just being in the same room as them makes you instantly feel 10x happier. Their wedding day in Breckenridge, CO was no exception!

They started off the day snuggling with their pups as they wrote their wedding vows before helping each other get ready and sharing their first look on the porch.

A slow drizzle started as we made our way to their ceremony spot but stopped just in time for them to share some of the most heartwarming vows I have ever witnessed.

After a celebratory picnic consisting of cold brew, charcuterie, and pastries, we spend the rest of the evening exploring an alpine lake, looking for mountain goats, and listening to the marmots bark their congratulations!

The evening wrapped up back at the cabin, complete with a romantic first dance, gift exchange, and of course, pizza.

Sharing this intimate day with Laura and Paula was truly a joy, and I’ll never forget the love that they absolutely radiated!

After my wife and I decided we wanted to get married in Colorado, I searched for LGBTQ-friendly photographers. I was totally blown away while looking through one of the portfolios on We, The Light’s website. I actually teared up because I could feel the emotion in the moments captured. We snooped on their Instagram and confirmed that we definitely wanted to work with them!
Bailey reached out after I sent in an inquiry, and we started planning our elopement! The entire process was great. Bailey sent a questionnaire so that we could get a better idea of what we wanted for our elopement. It really helped us narrow down locations and activities.
Bailey contacted us as we got closer to our elopement. She found out that the road to one of our locations would be closed and gave an option of what we could do instead. It wasn’t a problem at all to us, so we made the change to the timeline for our day.
It was great to have Bailey capturing our day. She was like a friend, cheerleader, time-keeper, and artist all in one. I had no doubt that no matter what happened on elopement day, Bailey would be five steps ahead mentally (and physically!). Our day had sunlight, clouds, and rain. Bailey had everything we could have needed: bug spray, clear umbrellas that are perfect for photos, hand warmers for when it was chilly, a first aid kit so we didn’t have to pack our own. Forever hours later, Bailey left our AirBnb and drove 2+ hours to her home. That was a 13+ hour day for her! She also said that she doesn’t “clock out” until she backs up her photos in two ways. It was refreshing and comforting to us to know that we were working with someone who pays this much attention to details that go into being a kickass elopement photographer. You can tell that Bailey cares about capturing your elopement in a beautiful and magical way.
We love our photos. I have teared up multiple times looking through them. We feel the cool air of the mountains on our skin. We feel the drops of rain on our faces. We feel the excitement and electricity of nature around us. I am so excited to get prints!
We decided to elope because we wanted to do our thing on our day. We loved our wedding day. It felt like a dream. We only wish we had thought to snap a selfie with Bailey!
