Summer Stargazing Elopement | Leslie + Nathan

Leslie and Nathan first met at Hallmark where they were both designers. Together for 11 years, their friendship was a rock-solid foundation for their relationship that was full of constant laughs, adventures, bike rides, and loving on their two pups.

In 2020, they realized that they wanted to take the next step and finally get married, but were determined to do it in a way that was a reflection of their relationship. They pictured exchanging their vows in nature just the two of them, surrounded by spectacular views, mountains, and water.

Naturally, Breckenridge, Colorado was a perfect fit!

On their wedding day, Leslie and Nathan spent some time hiking around an alpine lake before finally sharing their handwritten vows. Leslie surprised Nathan with a song she had commissioned just for their wedding day, and we all spent some time soaking up the incredible views and wiping away tears of happiness.

Wanting to incorporate one of their favorite pastimes, our next stop was to a second lake where they set up a picnic, made some Old Fashioneds and played around few rounds of rummy.

Feeling recharged, we drove to our third and final destination where a waterfall and two more lakes greeted us!

While exploring our final stop, Leslie and Nathan decided they weren’t quite ready for the evening to end and asked if we might be able to stay out a bit later than planned and stargaze.

Spending over an hour playing with lanterns and watching the milky way rise on their wedding day was absolutely indescribable, and the PERFECT way to end a day filled with so much joy and love!

Leslie and Nathan’s day just goes to show how much a little spontaneity can add SO much magic to an already epic day!

Choosing We, the Light Photography to capture our elopement was the best decision ever! We were initially drawn to their website and social feeds featuring tons of useful information and breathtaking images. But what ultimately sold us was the way Bailey radiated positivity on our first call. Her smile came across so vividly – through the phone! She was immediately helpful in hearing all our hopes and dreams and providing all the inspiring location options. We wanted to spend our day exploring somewhere we’d never been before, and we can’t imagine a more amazing experience than what we had with Bailey. She has been our knowledgeable guide, organized planner, brilliant photographer, and cheerleader extraordinaire from that very first call through the day of our elopement and beyond. When we finally met her in person the day of our elopement, it felt like seeing an old friend – which was especially comforting for two introverts. We had such a blast adventuring together that Nathan And I decided to extend our time to include star photos! Having images of the night sky following our incredible day was irresistible to us, and Bailey was all in! So we wrapped our day playing with lanterns and watching Bailey excitedly capture the stars and the Milky Way as they became more and more apparent – it was pure magic! She delivered our sneak peeks way earlier than promised, and to say we are over the moon is an understatement. We’re so beyond grateful to have these amazing photos to prove that our dream of a day really happened! Thank you for exceeding our expectations in every way, Bailey. You are such a light!
