A Sweet & Simple Summer Evening Elopement | Jumelia & Kyle

Posted On | July 12, 2024

Not every elopement needs a packed schedule or a remote trail to be meaningful. Sometimes, all it takes is two people (plus a very good dog), a stunning overlook, and a quiet moment to say, “we do.” Jumelia and Kyle’s Boulder elopement was one of those sweet, no-fuss days that felt like it was exactly what it needed to be—nothing more, nothing less.

We met in the Artist’s Point parking lot, the Friday afternoon surprisingly quiet, and hiked the short trail together to the lookout. It’s one of those places that doesn’t ask much of you, but gives you everything in return – jagged peaks in the distance, pine trees framing the view, and just enough space to breathe it all in.

As we reached the overlook, Kyle knelt to help Jumelia into her heels. That simple, quiet act felt like a perfect prelude to the rest of the evening: thoughtful, intentional, grounded in love. Their pug (who absolutely stole the show) trotted along with us, thoroughly enjoying his role as witness and professional scene-stealer. And yes, he even put his paw to paper to make it all official – his little print right there on the marriage license.

They shared vows overlooking the valley, spoke softly to each other, made each other laugh, exchanged rings, and popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Nothing fancy. Nothing forced. Just real joy in a beautiful place.

Afterward, we wandered around Artist’s Point for photos, soaking in every golden sliver of light and the calm of the morning. It was glorious in that way only summer in the mountains can be – where the green trees and flying birds feels like part of the ceremony. Then we hiked back to the cars, hearts full, pug tired (but proud), and everyone exactly where they needed to be.

Jumelia and Kyle’s elopement was a reminder that simple doesn’t mean small. When it’s just the two of you (okay, three of you) and the mountains, it somehow feels like the whole world is right there with you.
