Taylor & TJ | Horsetooth Reservoir Engagement

Funny story about Taylor & TJ. They met in college while working as orientation leaders. If you ask Taylor, she was TJ’s peer mentor. If you ask TJ, she was his boss. One of their duties as orientation leader was to lead an annual event to welcome incoming first year students at the start of the semester. While I was volunteering for the same event, I distinctly remember admiring how outgoing and full of joy they both were!  

Taylor and TJ were close friends throughout the program, and eventually stared dating once it was over. After TJ bought a ring, he planned a Harry Potter surprise party, complete with decorations, treats, butterbeer, and of course, their friends and family. After showering her with Harry Potter gifts, TJ pulled out a wand box with Taylor’s ring carefully tucked inside. She was beyond happy to say yes! When they reached out to me to shoot their wedding, I might have fangirled a bit. While I was sure they didn’t know me, I had long looked up to them as some of the kindest, most outgoing people I had met at CSU. 

When they’re not in the classroom teaching, Taylor and TJ love to spend time with their sweet pup, Obi, who joined us for their engagement session. Despite the crazy wind and cold temps, these two spent the entire time cracking each other up and having the best time. These two truly radiate joy, and I am SO stoked to be with them they why say “I do” next summer!
