This wedding is close to my heart. I met the groom, Nick, in high school. Nick and my husband grew up to become best friends and his new wife, Hannah, is the perfect addition to our close friendship. To be able to capture their day on a camera and be a part of all the small, intimate moments like getting ready and right after the ceremony is the biggest blessing they could have given me.
Nick and Hannah are a boating couple. They met at a wake surfing competition, own a boat together and spend their summer days on the lake with friends. The Lake House at Cherry Creek State Park in Greenwood Village, CO fit this couple perfectly with it’s boat-lined docks, sandy ceremony site and views of the water.
If you’ve lived in Colorado for some time, you know that you can never predict the weather in October here. It can be 70 and sunny or 30 and snowing. Thank God that for this October 7th wedding it was the former – 70 and sunny (although it did snow only 48 hours later).
Their ceremony was sweet, heartfelt and officiated by a close friend who made it feel so personal. After the ceremony, Nick and Hannah did what they do best – hop on a boat and enjoy their friend’s company with a bottle of champagne. Their night went down as by far one of the most fun weddings I’ve been a part of with dancing and a rooftop patio that overlooked the full moon that crested the horizon.
Thank you, Nick and Hannah, for allowing me into the fun, sweet moments of the day and capturing your forever.
