Lauren and Ethan’s Pines at Genesee wedding was magical. From gorgeous fall weather in Colorado to an epic mountain sunset, these two got the best of all worlds on their wedding day.

 

A LITTLE ABOUT LAUREN + ETHAN

As a golf pro, Ethan generally works weekends, so when they do get a free weekend together they are typically off hiking. When Lauren and Ethan get a little extra time off work, they love to travel to Ethan’s family’s lake house in Nebraska. They do all the outdoorsy things like fishing and golfing (Lauren unashamedly admits that she just rides in the cart with a beer – girlllll, I’d do the same thing!).

As die-hard University of Nebraska fans, their falls are filled with watching ALL of the Nebraska Cornhusker football games. Lauren enjoys cooking, and Ethan enjoys eating – basically, they make the perfect food lovers combo! Lauren and Ethan are even planning to have a donut wall at their wedding, because, in Lauren’s words, “why not have donuts at night!”

I had such a blast with these two at their Shrine Pass engagement session that I knew their wedding day was going to be a party!

 

THEIR PINES AT GENESEE WEDDING

From the moment I walked into the door of their Airbnb, I knew it was going to be a fun day. Lauren and her bridesmaids laughed a lot and popped champagne to celebrate their best friend. One of my favorite moments was Lauren’s first look with her dad. He gifted her an encapsulated rose with a note that read “Lauren, I loved you first. – Dad”.

Lauren and Ethan wrote letters to each other. They read these in private before their first look as each of them wiped tears from their eyes. You know when a couple is meant for each other when they gift the other person a totally non-traditional wedding gift that they know the other will love. Ethan gifted Lauren a pair of AirPods because she always steals his at the gym. Lauren gifted Ethan a watch as well as a clear shower curtain with pockets for his iPad so he can continue watching his favorite sports games while in the shower.

Their wedding ceremony was sweet and short, with the best personalization from Lauren and Ethan’s long-time friend who officiated. They included the lighting of a unity candle and had their parents come up to close out their ceremony with a prayer over the newly married couple.

We drove to a nearby location that I had scouted for glowing grassy fields and epic mountain views. Their night ended with sunset on the famous bridge that crosses I-70 and overlooks all of the Rocky Mountains and Continental Divide.
