Sadie and Kain first met in high school and built their relationship on friendship before anything else.
After several years together, Kain finally popped the question over Thanksgiving in Sadie’s family’s kitchen. Of course, she said yes!

As we spent over a year planning their dream Windy Point Campground wedding, we made sure that Sadie and Kain were able to spend part of the day exploring on their own before meeting back up with their family for a late afternoon ceremony.

As the sun began to drop lower in the sky, Sadie made a wardrobe change before joining their family and friends for the most swoon-worthy, laid-back sunset reception under the pavilion.

How to Plan Your Windy Point Group Campground Wedding

Located in Dillon, Colorado along the shore of Lake Dillon, Windy Point Group Campground is the perfect location for couples looking for a unique outdoor mountain venue for their intimate wedding. While you are not required to camp in order to reserve the campground, it is equipped with tent pads as well as RV hookups for those that would like to take advantage.

Picnic tables, campfire rings, and vault toilets are available for use, as well as a covered picnic shelter that is perfect for a laid-back reception. This venue is pet-friendly, handicapped accessible, and even has boat access!

Make Your Reservation

Windy Point Group Campground can be reserved online up to a year in advance. The campground is closed during the winter but can be reserved from mid-May through the end of September. Prices range from $240 to $534 per night as of March 2023. There is a two-night minimum for reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night, and a three-night minimum for nights that include Federal holidays. There is a 7-night maximum.

Lake Loop vs. Forest Loop

There are two loops that can be reserved – the forest loop and the lake loop.

The Lake Loop is handicapped accessible and includes access to the lakeshore and the covered pavilion.

The Forest Loop contains access to the forest ceremony location shown below and is NOT handicapped accessible.

If you would like maximum privacy and would like to use both the forest ceremony location as well as the pavilion that Mercedes and Kain used below, you will need to reserve both loops.
