Horsetooth Reservoir Proposal | Dani & Evan

Evan and Dani’s Horsetooth Reservoir proposal was the kind of day that felt like it had been quietly building for months, or maybe even years. Evan had planned a tour of all the spots around Fort Collins that had meaning to their relationship, giving Dani a single rose at each one, each stop a little reminder of their journey together. She had no idea what was coming, just enjoying the thoughtful, quiet adventure with him.

The grand finale was a hike up Horsetooth, where the golden light of a smoky sunset draped over the reservoir. At the top, Evan handed her the final rose and dropped to one knee. Dani’s smile—half shock, half joy—said everything. She said yes, of course, and for a few minutes the world narrowed down to just the two of them, the soft wind, and that incredible view.

Their story isn’t just about the proposal. They met on a dating app in July 2022 and kicked off their first date with a card game and Qdoba, a small but perfect introduction to how they’d navigate life together: playful, thoughtful, and a little goofy. They have a habit of saying the same thing at the same time, laughing at shared inside jokes, and turning the simplest moments into adventures. Evan loves his sports and disc golf, Dani loves to cook, craft, and dance, and together they collect puzzles, Pokémon cards, and memories of long walks through Old Town Fort Collins.

The proposal was a perfect reflection of who they are: intentional, heartfelt, and full of quiet humor. The sunset framed them like a painting, the reservoir sparkling below, and in that moment, they weren’t just looking at a view—they were stepping into the next chapter of their life together. It was simple, beautiful, and completely them.
