A Playful & Intimate Wedding With Lightsabers & a One-Eyed Pug | David & Jenny
Posted On | June 7, 2025
David and Jenny’s wedding day was one of those celebrations where every moment felt like it belonged to them. Nothing about it was rushed or overdone—it was simply a gathering filled with laughter, inside jokes, and the people (and pets) who mattered most. From the start, they knew they wanted something intimate and meaningful, a day that felt more like an adventure with family than a performance for a crowd. And that’s exactly what they created.

Their story began in the most 2020 way possible: a Zoom date after a year of a mutual friend trying to set them up. By the end of the night they’d had two video calls, shared music videos for hours, and David had insisted Jenny watch Dog the Bounty Hunter. It was chaotic, funny, and perfectly them. That same playful energy carried through their relationship, whether it was camping trips with collapsing tents and their pug barking at raccoons, or David inventing silly songs and nicknames.
The proposal had been in the works for nine months—David secretly planned every detail with Jenny’s family involved. When the moment finally came, it was filled with joy, laughter, and a resounding yes. So when it came to choosing where to get married, Rocky Mountain National Park was an easy choice. It was already a meaningful place, and neither of them wanted the stress of a traditional wedding. An intimate celebration surrounded by mountains and the people they loved felt just right.
The day itself unfolded with sweet little moments stitched in between big ones. They started with a first look and portraits at Sprague Lake, soaking in the calm before heading to the Moraine Park Amphitheater for their ceremony. Their one-eyed pug, Milo, even served as witness for their marriage license—paw print and all. After the ceremony, they celebrated back at their lodge in Estes Park with family, sharing dinner, toasts, dancing, and plenty of laughter. As the evening settled in, we stole away for blue-hour portraits, complete with lightsabers that turned the mountains into their own private galaxy.
By the end of it all, Jenny loved the intimacy of their vows, and David couldn’t stop smiling through the celebration. Together, the day felt exactly like them: a little nerdy, a lot of fun, and deeply full of love.
